We are excited to start this blog where we will be showcasing some of the Oral Herstories collected by the Lesbian Elders Oral Herstory Project! We are so grateful for the time and energy of the volunteers who have participated so far.
At the end of June we held three informational sessions via Zoom that had participants from across North America. It was an honor to commune with and guide intergenerational folks in learning about collecting oral histories and, in the process, fostering community and knowledge sharing! Over the summer several Oral Herstories were recorded by volunteer interviewees and interviewers. We have started preserving, processing, and preparing the interviews and transcripts of this first set of oral histories. We look forward to sharing these rich stories with you on this website and on-site at LHA.
Our next set of informational meetings will be held this Fall. If you have already signed up you will receive an email with the new dates. If you have not signed up and are a Lesbian Elder that is interested in volunteering and sharing your herstory please fill out this survey.
You can also see our posts on the Lesbian Herstory Archives website here and here. Check out our FAQ for more info on the participation process and feel free to contact us by email with any questions!
